How We Express Ourselves - Week 6
We have come to the end of our How We Express Ourselves unit. This week the students completed their summative assessment. Please see their individual page for photos and their artist statement.
Our next unit is under the theme 'Sharing the Planet'. The central idea is:
Summative Assessment
We shared our art work and artist statement with our Grade 5 buddies this morning. After the water festival break you will be invited to come and look at the work. I will send a separate email with details closer to the date.
Elsa's Birthday
On Tuesday we celebrated Elsa's 8th Birthday.
Guest Speaker
This Thursday a family friend of Helmi's came to speak to us about the Breakfast Programme Kellogg's runs in schools for children who often are unable to eat breakfast at home. This links to our previous unit as well as our final unit of the year.
Grade 10 play
A couple of months ago two grade 10 students came and observed our class to understand what students of this age enjoy, some expressions they use and how they interact with each other. With this information they created a play. On Monday were able to watch the play they made for us. All the students thought it was very funny and afterwards provided feedback to the Grade 10's.
PE clothing reminder
On Tuesday and Wednesday students need to wear their PE uniform and appropriate footwear. The students are currently completing a unit on Athletics and lessons are taking place on the field.
Water Festival Holiday.
